Having appeared once, it forever remained in the wardrobe of women. And this is not an accident ...

In the 60s, it revolutionized fashion and is still one of the most beloved models of confident women of all ages and any complexion.
Completely closed, slightly flared and very short - this is a classic mini-dress that arose in the fun 60s. Today it belongs to the classics of fashion and is beloved by women primarily because in it they look young and sexy. In summer, there is nothing better than a light short dress on the straps, in winter, the mini-model made of woolen fabric looks great in an ensemble with tight tights and high boots. Well, a sequined mini-dress will turn you into the main character of the party.
Fashion Revolution
It happened in 1965, when the still unknown Englishwoman Mary Coint raised the lower edge of the skirt to an incredible height. To the Beatles song, she released on the catwalk of young and thin fashion models in very short dresses. It was a scandal, because until now it was believed that it was indecent to bare your legs. But women - and, of course, men - really liked the innovation, and when the British Vogue first published a picture of a miniskirt on its pages, it instantly became a bestseller worldwide. This even led to the fact that in 1966, Mary Kuant received the Order of the British Empire from the hands of the Queen herself for her special economic services - the development of light industry and increased exports. You can guess what Mary appeared at the award ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
Emancipation symbol
It soon became clear that mini dresses and skirts are not just another fashion sensation, which is destined for a short life. After the respectable fashion of the 50s, it was a kind of challenge to society and a sign of female emancipation. Mini began to be worn by everyone, regardless of age and physique - showing lush hips was no longer considered reprehensible. We can safely say that the mini-dress was the most feminist piece of clothing!

Mini length, maxi effect
It happens that some kind of clothing model can glorify a person. So in the 60s, the mini-dress made the fashion models Twiggy and Verushka world famous. Dressed in mini actresses Brigitte Bardot and Raquel Welch became sex symbols of their time. It is said that Valentino belongs to such words: "Mini has come to stay forever". The mini dress is an amazingly variable model. From it you can make anything. Even maxi! The basic patterns of Burda can be extended indefinitely.
