It is easy to turn a thin silk or thicker cotton stole into a tunic dress in just 20 minutes! How to sew such a dress without a pattern with your own hands - in a step-by-step master class.
A loose tunic is ideal for summer, comfortable and multi-functional: it can be worn solo, like a dress, or complete with a skirt, trousers, jeans, leggings. She can also quite replace a house kimono dressing gown or become a wonderful beach outfit, if the stole is made from natural or artificial silk. From a denser or warmer stole, for example, cotton or with the addition of wool, you can get an outfit for cooler days.
The length of the tunic dress will depend on the size of your stole. If the scarf is long, then the dress will be longer, from a shorter one you can sew an elongated tunic blouse.
We sew a summer dress without a pattern: a simple workshop
Stole tunic - 1 method: master class
You will need:
- stole (the width of the stole should be equal to or greater than your measure of the hemisphere of the hips + 6-7 cm);
- braid or lace for a belt;
- scissors;
- sewing machine and thread;
- pins;
- iron.
Work sequence:
1.Fold the stole in half and cut into 2 pieces. You will get 2 rectangular canvases. Set aside one for now - it will be the back. Fold the blank for the front of the tunic in half, this time along, and cut it. From the side of the longitudinal section, cut from each part a strip with a width of about 5-6 cm - keep the original processing of the edges of the stole. A drawstring will be made of stripes.
2. Fold back and shelf parts with the wrong sides inward. Please note: the processed edges of the parts of the shelves should be in the middle, and the raw edges at the edges. Chip off with pins and make side and shoulder seams as shown in the diagram. Rear the neck.
3. Sew one long of two drawstring strips. Tuck inward its edges by 0.5-0.7 cm on the long sides and iron. Define the line of the drawstring - at the waistline, slightly higher or lower, as you wish. From the inside, pin the part to the tunic and stitch so that a drawstring is formed.
4. Now you can sew up the lower part of the tunic, as shown in the diagram. If you want to wear it like a dressing gown or wrap, do not stitch the shelves.
5. It remains to put a belt in the wings - and you're done.

Stole tunic - method 2: master class
The second method, on the one hand, is a bit simpler, since you almost do not have to cut the stole, on the other hand, it is a bit more complicated, since you have to process the neck. The result is also slightly different. Choose what you like best.
You will need:
- stole (the width of the stole should be equal to or greater than your measurement of the hips + 6-7 cm);
- braid or tape for processing the neck;
- scissors;
- felt-tip pen or pencil for fabric;
- sewing machine and thread;
- pins;
- iron.
Work sequence:
1. We outline and cut the neck.
2. We lay the side seams.
3. Using the tape we process the neck.
