From paper and cardboard you can make a variety of New Year decorations and decor - from simple to unusual!

1. Paper garlands and lanterns

One of the simplest and most effective options for paper Christmas decorations is garlands and lanterns. So you can decorate both the house and the office.

You only need a pack of regular A4 sheets, paper scissors and glue.

Paper chains are the easiest decor. Cut the sheets across strips of 2.5-3.5 cm. Glue one strip into the ring. Pass the second strip through this ring and also glue it into the ring. Continue until you get the garland of the desired length.

A flashlight is also easy to do. Each flashlight will require one A4 sheet. First, cut a strip along the sheet - a strip will be required for the handle of the flashlight. Fold the remaining sheet in half lengthwise and make cuts as shown in the photo. Expand the sheet, glue it into a lantern and add a pen.

You can also make a garland of Christmas angels. To do this, fold each sheet across four times with an accordion. On one side, draw a silhouette of an angel, as shown in the photo. Cut along the contour, unfold and connect with other same parts of the garland.

The decor can be hung on the walls, window and ceiling.

2. Garland of small Christmas trees

An idea for those who love minimalism. Among other things, making such a garland is very simple! You will need double-sided cardboard in three shades of green, scissors, a thick thread and a large needle. For each Christmas tree, cut 2 identical triangles, cut one from the top to the middle, the second from the bottom, and collect the Christmas tree. When all the blanks for the garland are ready, collect them on a thread, piercing the cardboard with a needle.

3. Paper candles for the Christmas tree

Such candles are not only beautiful, but also much safer than ordinary ones: decorating a Christmas tree with them will be a great idea.

You will need thick yellow paper for candles, small paper baking tins (if you don’t find gold, you can paint them), gold glitter / loose sparkles, a gun with hot glue and holders for Christmas tree decorations (by the way, clothespins can replace them holders for curtains) and scissors.

For each candle, cut a 5x8 cm rectangle. Glue it into a ring, connecting the long sides. For the top of the candle, cut a circle of the desired diameter and glue on top. Cut the flame tongue and glue it on the circle.

With a glue gun, apply glue drops on the tongue of flame and on top of the candle to form drops, and until the glue has dried, sprinkle them with sparkles.

Glue paper molds from below, and clothespins to their bottom. Done.

These decorations are simple to make, the main thing is to choose beautiful paper. Better to take a pretty tight one.

You will also need something round as a template, scissors, glue, pencil and floss.

On paper, use the template to draw circles and cut. For each decoration you will need 4 identical circles. Fold the circles in half and glue as shown in the photo. Gluing the last of the four circles, put a loop of thread in the center, making a knot from the bottom.

5. Garland of colored paper lanterns

To make such a garland, you need sheets of colored and black paper, a pencil and a ruler, a knife, glue and a long cord.

Draw a template based on the image above. On it, you need to cut blanks from colored paper for flashlights. Do not forget to make holes for the cord. Also, for each flashlight, you need to cut a part for the base from black paper (see photo above).

On each blank, draw lines to bend the blunt side of the knife, as shown in the photo. Fold and glue the flashlight. Pass the lace through the holes and tie. Add the black part of the base from above by gluing it into the ring and gluing it to the flashlight. Now all the colorful lights can be collected in a garland. By the way, inside you can hide small sweets.

8. Volumetric star made of cardboard

To make such a star, you need a dense thin cardboard that holds its shape well. If there is no gold cardboard, you can take a regular one and then paint a star. You will also need scissors, a pencil and a ruler and a knife, glue and thread for the eyelet.

First draw a star or use the template above. Transfer the image to cardboard and cut along the contour.

Draw five lines, each from the center of the beam to the entire width of the star. The lines must be drawn with the blunt side of the knife along the ruler. And then fold the cardboard so that the folds appear alternately inside and out.

Glue a loop of thread to one of the beams. To make the star two-sided, it can be painted on both sides.

And you can make such large stars and decorate the room with them.

To make such a garland, it is not necessary to buy paper on purpose: you can use unnecessary postcards or magazine covers (it is better that the paper is quite thick). You will also need a breadboard knife and / or scissors, glue, a ruler and a strong thread.

Cut figures from cards - circles, hexagons, triangles and so on. Each figure of the same shape and size needs two pieces. Glue the figures into a garland so that the thread is inside.
