Military refers to those styles that, even going out of fashion for a while, never lose their loyal fans and supporters.
If you want to surprise your defender on February 23 with an unexpected outfit, perhaps you should save air dresses and flying skirts until March 8, and this time give preference to a strict and mysterious military style image.
This universal trend originated as a protest of the civilian population against the war, which, in fact, gave it life: during the First World War, the textile industry of the countries participating in the conflict was reoriented to the needs of the front and supplied uniforms. For civilians, clothes were often not sewn, but changed from a military uniform, and a strict "officer" cut was traced in a wide variety of things, from children's clothes to women's robes.
In the second half of the 20th century, when another military conflict broke out in Vietnam, the youth of America came up with the most peaceful of all possible protests - through military-style clothing. For some time, the military remained the destiny of the hippies, but in the 80s the famous Dior and Louis Vuitton were shocked by fashionable foundations, releasing military-style collections. After this turning point, it was possible to say with confidence that the military uniform had found its deserved place in the wardrobes of fashionistas and women of fashion very far from the army realities.
Style features
The cut and details of the military-style clothing replica clear and strict silhouettes of a certain averaged and universal military uniform. Models complement all kinds of stylistic attributes: epaulets, epaulettes, large metal buttons, stripes, decorative medals, various lacing.
The colors, as you might guess, include all the “army” shades that you can imagine, ranging from khaki and ending with marine navy blue. However, if you try, you can find examples made in more impractical, "girlish" shades - powdery beige, pale pink, white, but this is rather an exception to the rule.
Fabrics are usually used quite dense, emphasizing the severity of the lines: hard and dense cotton, leather, denim, velvet, rough linen, tweed, twill.
The military does not require that absolutely all the components of your outfit belong to this style. On the contrary, it is assumed that, for example, a military-style jacket is combined with a flying delicate dress, but at the same time sets the tone for the whole image. This, incidentally, is an important detail - the military style in a women's wardrobe does not imply rudeness and deliberate rigidity. On the contrary, military elements are used precisely to emphasize the femininity and fragility of a figure.
Sew it yourself
• Double-breasted woolen coat with a stand-up collar • Shawl Cape • Slim Fit Coat • Coat with detachable fur collar
The classic representative of military-style outerwear is a straight coat, styled as a military overcoat. This model can be decorated with zippers, patch pockets, epaulettes and other relevant attributes. The fur collar, combined with khaki coloring, will give a long coat a special chic.
• Short fitted jacket • Jacket short with an asymmetric fastener
• Suit jacket and A-line skirt • Slim Fit Jacket
The military jacket, fitted and shortened, will decorate any figure, giving it refinement. A distinctive feature is a stiff and straight shoulder line.
• Jumpsuit with long sleeves • Khaki Bodycon Dress • Wrap skirt • Safari Shirt Dress
It is noteworthy that the ideas and spirit of the military have a lot in common with the popular safari style, which also gravitates to khaki and light, barely noticeable brutality.
