Clothes modeling

Drapery is a trendy detail not only for summer dresses. To master the art of modeling clothes on a mannequin is not as difficult as it seems.

Designers often use this technique. Try it and you! It is only necessary to prepare a light flowing fabric, mannequin and pins.
You can model drapery according to our model and without a mannequin - on yourself or your friend, for example. But in this case, you can’t do without help. Put on tight-fitting underwear and carefully stick pins into it.

You will need:
Top on the straps; silk fabrics; dummy; threads for sewing.
Description of work:

MODEL 21: For draperies, see the step-by-step instructions in the slide show.

MODEL 22: For a collar-collar, cut out a part 100 cm long and 60 cm wide. Fold the part with the front side inwards, chop and grind the longitudinal sections 1 cm wide.

Unscrew the resulting pipe. Insert your hand into the pipe, grab the end, lock the middle.

Pull one end to the other with the front side toward the front side. Chop the ends of the pipe to a width of 1 cm (seam to seam). Start by leaving the area open approx. 5 cm for eversion.

Unscrew the pipe by pulling the fabric from the open area in the seam. Sew the open area in the seam manually with small stitches. Align the folds along the seam line (= middle of the back) to a collar width of approx. 15 cm, folds in a few stitches.Lay the collar, pin along the edge of the neckline and to the front halves of the straps of the top, sew with several stitches.

MODEL 23: For a shawl, cut out a part 96 cm long and 80 cm wide. Measure from the top 30 cm and put a mark along one longitudinal (left) cut. Unscrew the upper cut from the right corner to the marking obliquely to the left side, iron the edge. Unfold the fabric flat again, cut off the upper part by folding.

Shawls were laid along the upper cut, 12 cm wide in finished form. Folds 2.5 cm deep and 5 mm deep at the edges. Wrap the upper cut over the neck of the front of the top to a width of 3 cm and sew on the wrong side.
